Characters: Emma and Alex (Friends)
Emma: Hi Alex! How are you?
Alex: I’m good, thanks! I moved to a new house last week.
Emma: Really? That’s great! What’s your house like?
Alex: It’s small but very nice. There are two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom.
Emma: That sounds perfect. Do you have a garden?
Alex: Yes, we have a small garden behind the house. I love it!
Emma: I would love to visit your house someday.
Alex: Sure! Come on Saturday.
Important Vocabulary
- bedroom: a room where you sleep. Example: I have a bed and a closet in my bedroom.
- kitchen: a place to cook food. Example: My kitchen has a fridge and a stove.
- living room: a room where you sit and relax. Example: We watch TV in the living room.
- bathroom: a room with a toilet and a shower. Example: The bathroom is next to the bedroom.
- garden: a place with plants and flowers. Example: My father grows vegetables in the garden.
Grammar Notes
There is / There are
- There is + singular noun. Example: There is a bathroom.
- There are + plural noun. Example: There are two bedrooms.
Using "have"
- I have / We have to show possession. Example: We have a small garden.

1. Comprehension Questions
- When did Alex move to a new house?

2. Speaking Practice
Work in pairs. Ask and answer:
- What does your house look like?
- How many rooms do you have?

Rewrite using correct grammar:
